Day 1: 12 Days of Wellbeing

We are delighted to introduce the Wellbeing team. We’re here to help bring joy into the workplace and support staff to be well at work.

We currently offer

  • Drop-ins and team briefings to discuss challenges staff are facing, offer practical support and signposting to appropriate services and teams.
  • Supporting staff and line managers by staying in touch with staff who are off sick, directing them to relevant wellbeing support.

As we approach the festive season, we will be meeting staff across the Trust. In 2024, we continue the roll out our Flexible Working campaign, introduce a bespoke wellbeing section to the staff induction, host more drop-ins and lots of other exciting initiatives to help staff stay well at work.

Wellbeing Support Hub

The Wellbeing Support Hub offers a range of resources and materials to help and support you. This includes:  

  • Mental health information, advice and techniques, including counselling and therapy available at work. 
  • Wellbeing advice, staying active tips, menopause advice and useful apps. 
  • Spaces to take time out. Inside and outside areas to relax in. 
  • Cost of living help and advice, money and debt advice, staff discounts. 

Our top tips to support your wellbeing at Christmas

  • Talk about your feelings. It’s hard to admit that at such an exciting time of year, you don’t actually feel that great!
  • Do something you are good at or really enjoy in your spare time, make time for you!
  • Get enough sleep. Sleep is vital for our wellbeing so try not to skimp on it – even on Christmas eve!
  • Talk to your line manager or reach out to the Wellbeing Team at plh-tr.staffwellbeing@nhs.net if you are struggling – we’re here to help you.

Staff can email the team at plh-tr.staffwellbeing@nhs.net, attend the drop in every Tuesday between 11am and 1pm at the Discovery Library in the main hospital or visit our Wellbeing Support Hub page on the staff intranet.
