SHARING OUR NEWS

Dear partners and stakeholders,

I’m delighted to share with you my first newsletter as Chief Executive. I’ve been out and about and have met some of you but if our paths haven’t crossed already, I look forward to meeting you over the coming months.

I joined the Trust, moving from Buckinghamshire in October, and it has been a busy start. This newsletter captures some of our developments over recent months – from treating the first patient in the UK using a pioneering laser catheter for vascular disease to celebrating the 1st birthday of our Young Persons’ Patient Council and coming together with colleagues from Improving Lives Plymouth to better support people with complex needs.

One thing stands out: we are a people organisation and what we achieve is done so through working in partnership with others. I want to thank you for your continued support and collaboration. Together, we are shaping a future that delivers outstanding care for our community. From topping out the Plymouth Community Diagnostic Centre and breaking ground on our new Emergency Care Building, to opening the Dartmoor Building and welcoming patients to our Urgent Treatment Centre, these developments are key milestones in our Future Hospitals programme and capital developments. And through our social value initiatives, we are ensuring that every step forward benefits not only our patients but also our wider community.

Thank you for being part of this journey and I look forward to working with you as we continue to provide excellent care for our local population and creating a hospital built for the future.

Warm regards,

Neil Macdonald

Chief Executive
